The centre focused on several core activities and projects, next to its more general function as a media lab, where not only the existing production facilities and other resources were available to the public, but also the skills for practical use as well as conceptual realisation of artistic projects could be learned through workshops and other formats. The centre has realised international festivals and other events, of which the Werkleitz Biennale and its successor the Werkleitz Festival have been the largest and most noted productions. With the European Media Artists in Residence Exchange (<span class=\"caps\">EMARE<\/span>), the Supported Artist programme, A38-Production\u00a0Grant and the Werkleitz-Project Grant it has awarded a scope of grants to individual artists active in the field of contemporary arts and media.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Centre for Art and Visual Media, Werkleitz Gesellschaft<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"> <strong>\u00a0[Co-Founder, Vice Chairman]<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"> 1993-2001<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.werkleitz.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u21f1 www.werkleitz.de<\/a><\/span><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Das Zentrum f\u00fcr k\u00fcnstlerische Bildmedien Sachsen-Anhalt wurde 1994 in Tornitz\/Werkleitz von der Werkleitz Gesellschaft initiiert und nach deren Standortwechsel in Werkleitz Zentrum f\u00fcr Medienkunst umgewandelt. Das Zentrum unterst\u00fctzt professionelle K\u00fcnstler und Kunstnachwuchs, realisiert und pr\u00e4sentiert Filmkultur und Medienkunst, vom Kurzspielfilm \u00fcber Dokumentarfilm bis zu interaktiven Installationen und Internetprojekten. Das j\u00e4hrliche Werkleitz Festival, hervorgegangen aus der Werkleitz Biennale, ist eine wichtige internationale Pr\u00e4sentationsplattform f\u00fcr Film- und Medienkunst in den neuen Bundesl\u00e4ndern. \u2028\u2028Das umfangreiche Stipendien- und F\u00f6rderprogramm European Media Artists in Residence Exchange, A38 Produktionsstipendium, Werkleitz Projektf\u00f6rderung, Supported Artist von Werkleitz unterst\u00fctzt und vernetzt Einzelk\u00fcnstler aus dem In- und Ausland.
