It presented models of an artistic practice whose ethics derive not from past value systems, but from an appropriation of an extreme and contradictory, contemporary culture. The conference discussed the &#8216;Next Level Basics&#8217; in contrast to the well-known credo &#8216;back to basics&#8217;: How much security does the individual need to protect their freedom and in which ways is our existence redefined in gene-technology laboratories? Die &#8216;Next Level Basics&#8217; wurden \u2013 im Gegensatz zum Credo des &#8216;back to basics&#8217; \u2013 in der Konferenz diskutiert: Wieviel Sicherheit braucht die Freiheit des Einzelnen und wie wird unsere Existenz in gentechnologischen Laboren neu definiert? Neue Formen der interaktiven Medienproduktion auf \u00e4sthetisch-k\u00fcnstlerischer Basis spiegeln unsere ver\u00e4nderten Bed\u00fcrfnisse und Anforderungen wieder.
