The Berlin Akademie der K\u00fcnste (Academy of Arts) hosted transmediale editions 2006 and 2007. Founded in 1696, Akademie der K\u00fcnste is one of the oldest cultural institutes in Europe. <\/span>It is an international community of artists and has a current total of 400 members in its six Sections (Visual Arts, Architecture, Music, Literature, Performing Arts, Film and Media Art).\u00a0 <\/span>The Akademie der K\u00fcnste is an exhibition and event location, a meeting place for artists and people interested in the arts, where public debates on art and cultural policy take place.<\/span><\/p>\n

transmediale is a Berlin-based festival and year-round project that draws out new connections between art, culture and technology. All activities of transmediale aim at fostering a critical understanding of contemporary culture and politics as saturated by media technologies. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the course of its history, starting in 1988, the annual transmediale festival has turned into an essential event in the calendar of media art professionals, artists, activists and students from all over the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Die Akademie der K\u00fcnste war der Veranstaltungsort der transmediale Ausgaben 2006 und 2007. Gegr\u00fcndet im Jahre 1696 geh\u00f6rt die Akademie der K\u00fcnste in Berlin zu den \u00e4ltesten europ\u00e4ischen Kulturinstituten. Sie ist eine internationale Gemeinschaft von K\u00fcnstlern und hat in ihren sechs Sektionen Bildende Kunst, Baukunst, Musik, Literatur, Darstellende Kunst, Film- und Medienkunst derzeit insgesamt 423 Mitglieder. Die Akademie der K\u00fcnste ist ein Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsort, eine St\u00e4tte der Begegnung von K\u00fcnstlern und Kunstinteressierten.<\/span><\/p>\n

Die transmediale ist ein Festival und ganzj\u00e4hriges Projekt in Berlin, das neue Verbindungen zwischen Kunst, Kultur und Technologie herausstellt. Das Ziel der Aktivit\u00e4ten der transmediale ist es, ein kritisches Verst\u00e4ndnis der gegenw\u00e4rtigen, von Medientechnologien gepr\u00e4gten Kultur und Politik zu festigen. Im Laufe seiner Geschichte seit der Gr\u00fcndung 1988 hat sich das Festival zu einem der wichtigsten Events in den Kalendern von Medienkunstexperten, K\u00fcnstlern, Aktivisten und Studenten aus aller Welt etabliert.<\/span><\/p>\n
